Want to know more about online blackjack rules? Here's a short guide to get you started:
- Your objective in the game is to beat the dealer by getting a hand with a total of more than the total in the dealer's hand, without going over 21 (called "busting").
- If your first two cards include an Ace and a 10 (or any other face card), it's called a BLACKJACK- the highest paying hand total in the game.
- All face cards- Jacks, Queens and Kings are counted as 10 and cards from 2-10 are counted according to their face-values.
- Ace can be counted as 1 or 11 based on the need of the moment. The value of Ace becomes 11 if the hand total is less than 21. However, if the hand total is about to get bust, Ace is counted as 1.
- A hand that doesn't have an Ace or where the Ace is counted as 1 is known as a “Hard Hand.” Whereas the hand in which the Ace is counted as 11 is know as a “Soft Hand.”
- You receive 2 "up" cards to start with and thereafter you can draw (hit) as many cards as you wish to, in order to reach the winning total of 21 without going bust.
- If you don't want to hit, you can choose to “Stand,” thus drawing no more cards. The dealer is supposed to stand on the total of 17 in the standard game of blackjack.
- It's a “Push” when there's a tie between you and the dealer. This means that the game is over and the dealer returns you your bet.
